Helped + Kept - James Vander Woude
• Series: Seasons in the Psalms
Reminder - Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday (please register); CBA Easter thing after that if you want to attend; Easter Service on Sunday morning - invite someone along! Last Sunday James preached on Psalm 121, which highlights how God helps us and keeps us safe through the "valley of the shadow of death" - the sometimes terrible things we and our loved ones all go through. Was there anything from Sunday that you felt was helpful or meaningful to you? SCRIPTURE Read Romans 8:31-39 together in a couple of different translations. It is a familiar passage and a dense one - two good reasons to read it slowly in several different translations! Then, try to summarize the passage without referring to your Bibles. QUESTIONS 1. What are the "these things" spoken of in verse 31? Have a quick look back at the passage we looked at last week, Romans 8:14-30. No need to read it aloud, just pick out the high points. 2. What are the promises of God to us in this passage? (Hint - change the questions into statements) 3. What does this passage tell us about a) our destiny and b) our identity? 4. What is the Spirit speaking to you in light of all these things? Is there an application of these great truths into your life right now?
